UNDER 3 MINUTE GOLF WARM-UP

I am going to talk about WHY WARMING UP IS A MUST.


Then I am going to pull one of the warm-ups out of our 18 Golf Warm Ups Program and share it here!


Let's dive in...


WHY WARM UP?


It is a must.


A non-negotiable.


Two central reasons you should warm up...


[1.] Decrease the risk of injury.


Not all injuries can be avoided, but warming up helps reduce the risk.


A good warm-up will prepare the body's tissues to produce and absorb larger forces.


Then when you take a hack on the first tee, your body is prepared to produce and absorb the forces' your golf swing calls for.


[2.] Improve performance.


I am not saying a warm-up is going to all the sudden fix your golf swing, allowing you to swing it like DJ, Morikawa, or Tiger...


But, a proper warm-up will improve your athletic performance.


It will improve the function of your current golf swing.


After a warm-up, force production goes up, muscle function increases, joint fluidity increases, and nutrients are sent all over the body via a higher heart rate and increased fluid flow.


WHAT IS NOT A WARM-UP?


Grabbing 2 clubs and swinging them around a little bit.


Static stretching.


The walk to the first tee.


WHAT IS A WARM-UP?


Something that does all of the following:

  1. Moves joints through large ranges of motion

  2. Elevates heart rate slightly

  3. Exposes the body to some simliar-ish patterns that it will see in your golf swing

AN UNDER 3 MINUTE WARM-UP


Squatted Rotations... 1x5e

Standing Shoulder Rotations... 1x25e

Alternating Lateral Lunges... 1x5e

Seal Jacks... 1x25

Bodyweight Split Squat... 1x5e
