SCRATCH ATHLETES ARE BUILT DIFFERENT...

I love the golf training world.


I absolutely love helping golfers uncover their athleticism and tap into higher performance on the course.


It's my passion in this world.


It's why I founded SCRATCH.


And I am not like most coaches in the "golf fitness" industry.


SCRATCH Athletes are BUILT DIFFERENT.


My training philosophies are different than most...


They are an accumulation of my past experiences.


I began my coaching career working with fairly high-level athletes.


I got started coaching in the collegiate football world, and lived there for 3 years.


Then I went and worked in the high school baseball world for another year and a half.


I've since founded SCRATCH, began working with golfers regularly, while still working with athletes of other sports daily.


My past experiences are what drive my unique perspective on golf training, which I continue to discuss in blog posts, on social media, and in podcast appearances.


At SCRATCH, WE TRAIN LIKE ATHLETES.


That's the big difference.


We don't train like golfers... although WE DO LOVE GOLF.


We train to uncover greater levels of overall athleticism and movement ability.


We truly stress our bodies, in order to promote physical adaptations!


Too many "golf fitness experts" in this world treat golfers, to be brutally honest, soft.


They fragilize them.


They wrap them in bubble wrap.


They are scared to over-stress them in the training setting.


Not us.

SCRATCH Athletes aren't simply trying to check the box, "Ope I worked out today!"


We are actively seeking out higher performance.


We train like the athletes we are.


We are aware of the resilience and adaptability the human body offers us.


We stress our bodies to the limits, in order to grow.


We are built different.


You are an ADAPTABLE HUMAN!


As athletes, or humans for that matter, we are adaptable beings.


We apply stress to the body, we absorb that stress and become stronger because of it.


This is the central meaning of training and fitness.


So, when I see popular "golf fitness experts" giving athletes clam shells, or light band rotational things, or they put a golf club on their back in the weight room and call it strength work.... I get so mad!


Because, they are disrespecting the athletes they are working with.


They are saying, "Okay, you're a golfer and we need to take it easy on you."


No way.


Get that garbage out of the golf training world.


Now, I'm not saying we should be grinding out max squats and CrossFitting until we throw up.


Of course, that isn't the answer either.


We shouldn't be overtraining like fools... as I did in college🙃.


But WE NEED TO SLOWLY and PROGRESSIVELY APPLY STRESS TO THE BODY.


Golfers aren't soft.


SCRATCH Athletes aren't soft.


We train like athletes because we are athletes.


We apply stress and adapt to it, because that's what we do. That's who we are.


LEVEL UP THE BEING WITHIN YOU, NOT THE GOLFER

Many of us have end goals in regards to how we perform on the golf course.


Which is awesome, I don't want those to go anywhere.


Me personally, I would love to get my handicap down to a 7... fingers crossed this is the year.


However, when we are in the weight room we are trying to level up who we are as a human being, as an overall athlete... not a golfer.


The golf improvement will come...


The resilience and pain-free performance will come...


The longevity in the sport will come...


Once we uncover the greater being within ourselves.


SCRATCH Athletes are Becoming Better Athletes.


That's it.
